About Me

Hello, welcome to my blog. This is a space where I will be sharing all things osteopathy. This first blog is a little bit about me, how I started my journey to becoming an osteopath and some background facts.

I studied for a masters in Osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM). I have always been interested in the human body and intrigued with how it works, as well as the components that influence its function.

I did not want to be an osteopath growing up and didn’t know about it until I was studying for my A levels. Since the age of three, I have always focused my studies and goals into becoming an orthopedic surgeon. I have always wanted to be ‘Dr. Halman’ so it seems there is another step to my journey to achieve the ‘ultimate goal’. I will probably go and do a Ph.D. at some point rather than going down the medicine route, but you just never know.

I have danced my whole life, with a specific focus on ballet. I also play the violin and have been part of Barnet Symphony orchestra since January 2018. I have played in many orchestras including the East Riding youth orchestra.

I think its good to have an outlet to enable a balance between relaxing and working or studying. Dance and music certainly provide that for me, as they are both creative and enable progression.

In the clinic, I enjoy treating everyone and the varieties of ailments that people present with. I don’t like to limit focus too much because there are too many areas that interest me and that I would like to develop knowledge in. With my background, I do enjoy treating musicians and dancers. I understand what it feels like not to be able to do either one due to injury, so if I can help, I will. I also enjoy treating the elderly, not only because they benefit well from treatment, but their lifelong journeys are so inspiring.

Keep an eye out for more posts,

See you soon,

Hermione
